Wedding Season

Kimberley's Kitchen is heading into my second wedding season designing and creating custom, handmade edible favors. This is very exciting for me and a little unexpected. I sort of stumbled into the wedding business via a network of other wedding vendors in the Lower Mainland and with the help of Jeannine at Vancity Bride. My brilliant photographer at Magna Vita Photography perfectly captured my mini marshmallow cake and it quickly launched me into the wedding business after being featured on Martha Stewart's Dreamers Into Doers community website.

By September 2011, I was fully booked for 2012, as I have to restrict how many orders I can take due to the detailed, labor-intensive nature of custom wedding work. I had to figure out a way to help more brides have custom confections for wedding favors and I dreamed up my new wedding favor concept.

Why confections?
Edible wedding favors have been trending for a few years and publications such as Martha Stewart Weddings have been featuring many homemade and artisan sweets for favors, all beautifully packaged and presented. Edible favors lend a very personal touch if they are custom created for the couple and are a lovely way to treat guests to something truly delicious and memorable. I have had some couples hand out edible favors at the end of the ceremony as a "snack" before the reception- practical AND tasty.

When ordering from Kimberley's Kitchen, couples share with me the theme, colors, and details of their wedding. I ask for favorite flavors, and any other inspiration to custom design a confection that is true to the couple. With coordinating colors, flavors, and packaging, couples will have a unique, one of a kind favor that will be memorable and delicious.

Introducing DIY Wedding Favor Kits!
Well, to be fair, I will be making most of it, and the couple will be saving money on packaging and shipping. BUT, couples will still have a custom confection designed to their specifications, save money, and give something that reflects their day.

It's as easy as 1-2-3!
The couple selects
1. the confection of their choice, 2. the packaging and details, 3. and then assemble at home.
What is wonderful about confections is that they have a long shelf life, so they can be shipped early enough for the couple to assemble and have ready for their day. Assembly will take 1-2 hours as everything will be ready to be packaged up. And couples save money on shipping, packaging, and labor.

I want to order my kit!
